England job eyed by Inter Milan's Roberto Mancini as FA opt against Harry Redknapp

ROBERTO MANCINI is interested in the vacant England job – and Harry Redknapp has been ruled out as a potential successor to Roy Hodgson.

Inter Milan boss Mancini is understood to be intrigued by the opportunity having enjoyed a successful spell at Manchester City where he won the title. The Italian club has recently been bought by Chinese investors to create uncertainty around the position of Mancini, who has a year to run on his contract.

The Football Association have spoken to Redknapp about how to fix English football but he will not be considered as a permanent candidate for the position.
